Investing today is easier than ever. Mobile apps let you manage your money anytime, anywhere. If you're new to mutual funds or just haven’t explored the Axis Mutual Fund app yet, you might be wondering where to begin.

Whether you’re starting from scratch, switching to digital investing, or already have an Axis Mutual Fund account, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know.

The Axis Mutual Fund app is designed to be simple, secure, and packed with features. You’ll get access to Axis’s mutual fund schemes, a user-friendly interface, and a smooth onboarding experience just through a few simple clicks.

Step 1: Log In to the Axis Mutual Fund App with Your PAN

Download the App:

Head to the Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS). Simply open your device's app store and use the search bar. Search for 'Axis Mutual Fund' and download the official app. Look for the app with the familiar Axis Mutual Fund logo to ensure you're downloading the correct one.

Install it and allow any necessary permissions (like camera or location)—these help with KYC. During installation, the app may request certain permissions. Granting access to your camera or location can streamline the Know Your Customer (KYC) process, which is a crucial step for verifying your identity.

Log In with Your PAN

Use your PAN to log in. Your PAN is your unique identifier for financial transactions in India. If your PAN isn’t already KYC-verified, the app will seamlessly guide you through the KYC verification process first. Don't worry if you haven't completed KYC yet. The app is designed to lead you through this essential step, ensuring compliance and security before you begin investing.

Step 1.2: Complete Your KYC and Set Up Your Account

If your PAN isn’t verified, then complete your KYC in the App:
KYC is a one-time verification process mandated by regulatory authorities to prevent money laundering and other illicit activities. If you haven't already completed your KYC, you'll need to do so. This typically involves submitting identity and address proof documents. You can complete KYC online through the Axis Mutual Fund platform or other authorized KYC Registration Agencies (KRAs).

The app makes the KYC process convenient and digital:
You will need the physical copy of your PAN, an ID proof (this can be a masked Aadhaar, Driving License or a Voter ID card), a cancelled cheque or recent bank statement, passport sized photo (for offline processes) and address proof. This process differs slightly per investor type. If you are a resident Indian, Non Resident Indian (NRI), Minor, Hindu Undivided Family (HUF) or a Merchant Navy/Navy Personnel.

Step 2: Set Your M-PIN and Biometric Verification (Optional)

Once your KYC is complete, you'll set up your secure access methods:

Set your 4-digit M-PIN for secure access. This M-PIN (Mobile Personal Identification Number) acts as a quick and secure password for logging into the app and authorizing transactions, offering an extra layer of protection for your investments.

Optionally, enable biometric verification for extra convenience. For even faster and more convenient access, you can choose to enable biometric login using your fingerprint or facial recognition, if your device supports it. This eliminates the need to manually enter your M-PIN each time, while maintaining high security.

Step 3: Select Your Scheme and Invest

With your account set up, you're ready to explore investment opportunities:

3.1 Select the Scheme to Invest In

Browse through the available schemes and select the one that aligns with your investment goals. The Axis Mutual Fund App offers a diverse range of schemes, each designed to meet different financial objectives, risk appetites, and time horizons. Take your time to understand the scheme's investment objective, asset allocation, and past performance before making a decision. You can find schemes focused on equity, debt, hybrid, and more.

3.2 Invest via SIP or Lump-sum

Once you've chosen your scheme, decide how you want to invest:

Choose your preferred investment method:

SIP (Systematic Investment Plan): This popular method allows you to invest a fixed amount at regular intervals (e.g., monthly, quarterly). SIPs could be a good way to benefit from rupee-cost averaging, where you buy more units when prices are low and fewer when prices are high, potentially reducing your average cost over time and instilling investment discipline.

Lump-sum: If you have a larger sum of money available, you can choose to invest it all at once as a lump-sum. This method is often preferred when the investor has a clear view of market conditions or a specific financial event generating a significant amount for investment.

Step 4: Create Your Investor Folio

What’s a Folio? Think of a folio number as your unique mutual fund account number with Axis Mutual Fund. It's a single, consolidated identification number under which all your investments in different Axis Mutual Fund schemes will be grouped and organized. This simplifies tracking and managing your multiple investments.

How is it created?

Once you make your first investment, the app will automatically create your folio if you don’t already have one. This seamless process ensures that your investments are immediately and properly allocated to your new folio number, making it easy to track and manage your portfolio from the very first transaction. If you already have an existing folio with Axis Mutual Fund, your new investments will likely be added to it.

Step 5: Get to Know the App and manage your investments like a pro

Keep an Eye on Your Portfolio: the Dashboard shows you real-time updates, including current value, returns, and NAV performance.
